The Tower of the Americas was closed on Thanksgiving Day, but opened up at 3pm. The wait was well worth it. The view on top was fantastic, and the weather was great. You could see for miles. The elevator ride in the glass elevator was super fast. It only took a few seconds. Rather than walking up over 900 steps... More

I love to take out of town visitors to the Tower of the Americas for the fantastic view. There is ample close parking and visitors have three choices of venues to watch a panoramic view of the surrounding San Antonio area. First is the top observation deck which can sometimes be quite windy. Hold onto your hats. Second is the... More

The views from the top are spectacular! On a clear day you can see forever. Loved the pictures below each view that showed how it used to look years back. Super cool clear day activity.

Tower of America was awesome, the grounds around the tower are beautiful. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant looked really nice (didn't eat there) it rotates one full turn every hour.

The Tower has a 360-degree view of All of San Antonio and a excellent restaurant with excellent service. You can't go wrong although find the moving restroom will be a challenge. There is a secret if you can figure it out. Finish your meal with a giant piece of MudPie and be really full.

We decided to go to Happy Hour in Bar 610 at the top of the tower (and part of Chart House restaurant) between 4:30pm and 7:00pm as we didn't think it would be worth paying just to go up the tower and we could put the money saved towards a meal and drinks and still see the view. Also, the... More

If you go to the Tower of America's go when the bar is open and tell them you just want to go up for a beverage. That way you don't have to pay the tour fee. We went up to the bar and ordered Bloody Mary's with beer chasers. The bartender was a bit confused and wondered what we wanted... More

The elevator ride up was fun all by itself. A very extensive history was on the walls at the top floor. The top floor actually rotates and the view is spectacular. Very nice gift shop too. They show various short interactive 3D movies. unfortunately, we were never offered the needed 3D glasses to enjoy the experience we chose. Other than... More

Enjoyable elevator ride giving you a great view of the city. Also, plenty of interesting historical Texas facts.
