We stayed in the main riverwalk section and liked walking the area and eating in locations less congested. The food at Guenther House was fine but the experience was really nice. We decided to check in on Sunday morning (prepare for a long wait) and continue to walk down the Riverwalk. It was a beautiful day so it was especially... More

Many locals suggested going here for brunch. We waited to be seated a good 40 mins. before getting a table half in/half out of the tent and near the serving area. The service was good but the food was not. There is a nice gift shop inside and a small museum.

The food here is obviously hand-made with care - very fresh and tasty, The waffles were light and fluffy yet crispy, and the breakfast tacos were delicious. Even the accompanying fresh fruit was good. Well worth the 30-minute wait!

Didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu & folks eating look like they were enjoying their food. Stopped just for a visit to the shop & grounds. Was hoping for a tour of the flour mill but they don't offer it. Nice gift shop for items or flour products they make. Also ask for the recipe cards. Cookie cutters... More

The house is pretty cool. We went for breakfast and the food was ok. It took quite a while to get our food and they didn't make one of the meals for one in our party so he had to wait while we were almost done with our meal. They did offer him a soup while he waited.

We arrived for breakfast around 8:45 on a cool Sunday morning. There was an opening in the outside heated patio tent so we took it. Service was great, prices reasonable and the food terrific. I had biscuits and gravy and eggs and bacon. All were superb. When we left around 9:30, lots of people waiting. We then walked down King... More

Located in the historic King William neighborhood of San Antonio is the Guenther House, built as a private residence by Carl Guenther, founder of Pioneer Flour Mills. The flour mills began in 1851 and are the oldest family-owned business in Texas and the oldest continuously operated milling company in the United States. The original house is open to the public... Enjoyed an early morning breakfast here on a Monday. Had the heated outdoor patio to ourselves though there were many people opting to sit inside. Service was fantastic. I opted for breakfast tacos (delicious) and my husband had an array of food including the biscuit and gravy (which he was head over heels for). Reasonably priced and plenty of parking.

Guenther House has an outdoor patio with heaters and a cover. It was wonderful eating breakfast outside on a chilly day in January. The pancakes and syrup were amazing! We want to visit again next time we're in San Antonio!
