SAS is a great place to visit, knowing that the shoes you are buying were crafted and made in America by well trained employees. The factory showroom has a wide selection of shoes for both men and women of all ages. There is a section where shoes are on sale at deep discounts. Other shoes are discounted as well. There are... My family has two things in common. Super tall and super big feet. SAS can accommodate the men and women. Men's sizes up to 15 in slim (AA) to wide, women's up to 12, slim to wide. The factory is very interesting, like an old general store, with 5 cent popcorn and 10 cent cokes, lots of souvenirs, belts, clothes,... More

Ever See SAS Shoes? Now I know what SAS stands for: San Antonio Shoes. They are supposed to be the last shoe company making shoes in the USA! Our tour bus went there and had a great time. We watched a pair of shoes being made from a flat piece of leather, saw it cut into the correct shape, and... More

KEMMH, what kind words! We are really proud to have kept our manufacturing in the U.S.A. for over 40 years. We are also really proud of our shoemakers and our General Store. I'm so glad you enjoyed your tour of the factory and the store. (The old cars are one of my favorites as well). It's hearing stories like yours... More

Don't miss the tour. It's worth it. You have to make reservations ahead of time. It is very impressive and amazing to watch the skill and speed that the women sew the shoes. The employees were very congenial and happily answered questions. When you are done with the tour-or before hand, take time to check out the SAS store, too.... More

The general store is a quaint experience with candy and ice cream available for purchase as well as 5 cent popcorn. Got great deals on shoes and a purse! The tour of the factory was VERY interesting and informative - Charlie Brown was an excellent tour guide! Nellie was very helpful in deciding to buy a purse.

Whether you like SAS shoes or not this place is a hidden gem in San Antonio to visit. As you walk up to the rustic building you will notice a bunch of old vehicles parked outside like someone's collection. They range from horse carriages to 50's style automobiles. Walk inside reminds you of an old hardware store with various items... More

We booked in to do the tour by phone but after going to the factory and checking in for the tour found out the bus was broken and were advised the tour was cancelled. We rang again the next day and were advised the bus was now fixed and booked in for a tour later that day. This time there... More

Discovered this gem about 15 years ago during one of my many business trips to San Antonio. A little hard to get to from I-35 going through an aging residential neighborhood, but so very worth multiple visits. Charming old Texas train station town deco, but the real reason is authentic, USA-made SAS shoes at 30-40% off retail, with discontinued styles... More

It had been quite a while since I was there last, as there shoes are such good quality, you don't have to return to buy more very often. I am always amazed and delighted to visit the factory. The "old town" atmosphere, general store, antique cars and buggies, all give the place a special feeling. The sales folks are also... More
