You can't get more Texas than Pearl beer. This brewery is a beautiful landmark that stands out when driving on the highways around downtown. The limestone structure is now used for events, excercise classes, a culinary institute and more. You can also learn about the haunted stories surrounding it and about what was once the largest brewery in the entire state. You know it's big if it's in Texas and this is the largest of its kind.

The Pearl Brewery next to the Riverwalk has been renovated into restaurants, shops, a hotel and an apartment complex. But in my opinion the best part is on Saturday and Sunday they host local vendors selling vegetables, flowers, food, and more. It's a relaxing way...More

The bar is converted from the original brewery house. Great character and well done ambience - spend some time here. Good food at the restaurants.

If you're interested in a quiet, low-key spot to visit, not so crowded as the Riverwalk, I highly recommend the Pearl Brewery area. It has lots of shops and restaurants; I wish we'd had time to sample more. If you can, go during the farmers'...More
