I went for an after hours group party. I didn't get to see the whole museum, but what I saw was captivating. If you are a fan of the west and enjoy the western spirit and way of life, you will really enjoy this spot.

On our first day, we did a riverwalk boat tour and while riding around the river, I noticed when we passed the museum (on the river), there was a sign saying free admission on Tuesdays 6-9pm. Since it was a Tuesday, after the tour, we...More

This museum is a low profile jewel. Kudos to the founders of this excellent art museum. It focuses on the western/cowboy nature of Texas and the southwest without turning into a pop culture country-western attraction. This is classic western art and photography. We departed pleased...More

I was there, by happy chance on the Museum's birthday, so admission was free. (I left the equivalent of admission in the donation jar). Lots of school groups (which I think is great). The permanent collection includes western paintings and sculpture, mostly top quality. Good...More

Glad we were able to visit on free Tuesday, but we’re not art people. Not sure I would have been as happy another day. Lovely art work, artifacts and sculpture. We don’t go to many art museums so wasn’t sure what to expect. Saddles were...More

This is a really nice museum which has Western, Texas and Native American paintings, sculpture and even weapons and apparel worn by historical figures. Many unique pieces and a must for history buffs and art lovers.
