Despite this place still being advertised, it is apparently no longer open for business. The movie sets are there but there is a posted Keep Out sign and when we drove a short way down the driveway, a not too happy man came out of an RV and let us know they were no longer open for business. Looks like... More

Most unfriendly folks ever! A rotting old movie set, not worth the drive. One of the buildings is in decent shape to look at

Eaves Movie Ranch is a replication of an old Western town, used for shooting Western movies, and also serves as a venue for events. Here you are transported to the Old West, complete with church, saloon, jail, mercantile, and a blacksmith. There is no action going on in any of these buildings unless a movie is being filmed, but makes... More

My wife and I have just completed Route 66 (insofar as it exists) on a Harley with an Eaglerider group on a tight schedule and had the great pleasure of visiting this place after an overnight stay in Santa Fe. Tommy, caretaker and resident (and lovely black dog - Jesse James(how about that!) with his squirrel toy - with a... More

My wife and just got back from our four week western tour vacation. We decided to revisit movie ranch cause we were here about 15yrs. Ago with our 4 kids. For those of you don't know this is a old western movie set used in many movies. Bring your camera. We called ahead of time using the telephone number listed... More

I am glad you had a good experience with Thomas. However I kindly request that people do not follow the reviewers advice, "If you're in the area, stop by right away." It may be a confusing for people that want to visit because the Movie Ranch is easy to find. We appreciate everyone's interest, but the property is private, and... More

We have just returned from our U.S trip (yesterday in fact) and whilst in Albuquerque we dropped in to the Bonanza Ranch run by Imogene, who was an absolute delight, we just knocked on her door trying to find the entrance and were amazed that she welcomed us so warmly, took us to her office and from there organised our... My family and I were passing by on our way to Albuquerque and stopped by the J.W. Eaves Movie Ranch. We read about it on roadsideamerica.com and thought it sounded cool. We were under the impression that it was open to the public but when we got there it seemed abandoned so we started walking around to explore a bit.... More

It all depends on if they're filming a movie or not! No matter, as the country surrounding the ranch is awesome and there's many historic sites close at hand to occupy your time there with! Maybe you'll get to be an EXTRA on one of the movies being filmed?

Thomas, the caretaker, was not only a great tour guide but a really good guy period. He met us in the off season on his own time and gave us a great tour. The place is not only fun but historically, it is a treasure! Make sure to take the time to visit when you are in the area. Also,... More
