This place is good for a nice stroll. There is a free bus to take you to the top of the hill, then enjoy all the shops on a leisurely stroll downhill. This place is VERY expensive, so don't expect to find any deals.

This is a great place to come for a Christmas Eve walk. The homes and shops are strung up with Christmas lights, people are serving hot chocolate, singing , standing around open fires... A must if you're here during the holidays. ...dress warm!

My husband and I walked through many of the galleries on canyon road and it was a fantastic experience. We ended up purchasing two pieces , our first ever fine art purchases. Even if we wouldn't have found something we loved , it was neat...More

Stopped by several galleries and met numerous artists. We were amazed at the different types of art on display. I was expecting 'southwestern paintings' but there is so much more! Sculptures, modern art, water features, motion art, tradition paintings... everything was just beautiful.

Canyon Road offers a wide variety of eclectic art galleries in a relaxed atmosphere. However, some galleries and shops are not handicapped accessible. The outdoor wind art is a favorite of mine. Sunshine, breezes, and twirling beauty! Well worth a 4-5 hour excursion, topped off...More

Canyon Road is what I think of as the Bourbon Street of Santa Fe. So quintessentially SF, ridiculous high end "art" but also reasonably priced galleries. The people watching is just as good as the art watching. Definitely worth the time to stroll up and...More

It's a narrow road with cars and buses. I also did not see places to lock up bikes. You would be better walking as everything is right beside each other.

Is there a close car rental company? I'm thinking we'd take the shuttle to the hotel for the first few days then rent a car for the second half of our trip. Thank you.

Likely, the hotel can arrange a rental care for you. Of course, Santa Fe is a walkers paradise so you may very well be able to walk Canyon Rd from your hotel if you are near The Plaza.
