Only 15-20 minutes from Santa Fe, this park makes for a nice little day trip. Pick up lunch in the city and take a nice hike through the forest.

You will climb to over 9000 feet to breathtaking views with great hiking areas along the way. It is worth the time to see.

There's a fee to get into the park; however, I hiked a trail that was on the way to Hyde Park and it was free to hike that trail.
