Use hking shoes for trails, but there are also turnouts that afford incredible views across the miles wide valley. The drive up and through the forest is stunning.

It nice to get out of the city and into some deep conifer forest. It was a very enjoyable hike. The grade was pretty moderate even for a flat lander.

You will need a car to get up to the area. It's located in the Santa Fe National Forest. Pack a picnic lunch plenty of place to eat with great vistas. Best hike is the Aspen trail.

Tucked in the mountains above Santa Fe. Beautiful scenery, nice camping spots and room for travel trailers.

There's a fee to get into the park; however, I hiked a trail that was on the way to Hyde Park and it was free to hike that trail.
