The Randall Davey house tour on Fridays was our main objective. That was interesting in its self. It took about an hour or more. There is a lot to learn and see in the house and studio. The history of the artist was well explained. The grounds are a wonderful place for bird watching and nature lovers. There are hiking... More

Short, well-marked trails in the woods on the side of a hill. We went in winter and didn't see many birds, but still a nice place to walk that's so close to the city.

We went here because our daughter loves birds and when you walk up the the visiter center you are greeted by several humming birds. The hike was awesome. They have signs telling you that it is getting more difficult. My kids (1,3and 5) were able to get really far. We packed plenty if snacks lunch and water. We didn't see... More

Knowledgeable volunteer staffed the center. Trails were very nice, lots of birds and calls, interesting panorama and trails connect with another partner in conservancy, the Dale Ball trails. Master gardeners helped design and maintain the spaces near the offices, in plants that attract hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. The Davey house itself only holds tours on Fridays so we missed that.... More

A free (donations accepted) lovely hike that be extended into the national forest. It was a cold sunny Saturday morning and we saw only one other person. The chickadees and finches kept us company…saw a deer and a squirrel. It is a peaceful and beautiful place to hike among the pines. At the birdfeeders near the information center, we saw... More

Being bird lovers, we thought a visit to the Randall Davey Audubon Center might be a lovely thing to include in our recent visit to Santa Fe. As Audubon members, we were very please to see what's going on at this simple and well-crafted nature center and sanctuary. We several easy hiking trails included in the sanctuary and Nature Conservancy... More

Past the galleries on Canyon Road is this woodsy sanctuary. Walking among the trees was a delightful change from the desert environment. We heard lots of birds but only spotted a black-chinned hummingbird and Steller's jay.

At just a few minutes' drive from Canyon Road, it really is worth a quick visit. Around the center (which has a lovely gift shop and some historic buildings) there are lots of birdfeeders that attract a range of birds and critters. The trails are well-made and wind through pinon woodland, where you can sometimes see wildlife (early AM is... More

Very nice landscaping. The trail was short and we saw no birds or animals. We did see many wonderful sphinx moths!

A great place to easily see and photograph humming birds and a number of different seed eaters. There are some nice walks on the hill side as well. Go in the morning and evening, of course.
