Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

For 25 years, 10,000 Waves has consistently been the highlight of our trips to Santa Fe. Not anymore. Never have we had to wait to enter the spa to enjoy the communal areas. This time, after waiting an hour (on a Sunday eve at 5pm) we were shocked to discover two major changes to the spa experience that may dissuade... More

We stayed at ten thousand waves for my birthday, it was last minute but we were able to book the full moon cabin. It has a full kitchen, fireplace, very comfortable bed and lots of amenities. You can put on your robe and go from the cabin to the spa to the restaurant. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the... More

I went here with my wife and had a nice relaxing time. We did the cold plunge which I felt was pretty unique. I am a fan of massage but dont do spa's a lot. That was the first time I think I have done a cold plunge. That was the memorable item :)

My wife and I visited Ten Thousand Waves in late August 2016. To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive after reading several reviews that mentioned hurried and rude staff, lost reservations, mediocre massages, etc. I can tell you that we saw none of those issues and had one of the most pleasurable experiences ever. Yes, there were several people... More

My girlfriend scheduled a wonderful day/evening. She booked the waterfall private heated soaking pool followed by a couples massage. Then dinner on the property at the Japanese restaurant on site. Upon checking in, received robes and lead to the changing rooms. Spent some time soaking legs and feet in hot water tub until we were ready to begin. locked ourselves... More

I have been going to Ten Thousand Waves for about twenty years. Unfortunately, they still ask me every time if I have ever been there. This last time my hot tub was not ready at my designated time. In fact it was 15 minutes late and they could not extend my allocated time. Instead they deducted a prorated value ($20)... More

So sorry you felt we responded poorly during your experience. We'll certainly take note and be more responsive to similar cases in the future. Sorry we don't always recognize you--there are tens of thousands of guests who pass through our doors yearly and our staff, although quite stable, does have some turnover. We do try to give great service to... More

My husband and I used to come here often for special occasions 20 some years ago, then moved out of the area. I wanted to take my daughter and a couple of her friends somewhere different for her birthday. This was the perfect fit. We rented a private tub and had so much fun. Just walking around the area was... More

Worth going even if you skip the massage and just chill at the hot spring / cold plunge and then throw their headphones on and meditate in the beautiful meditation room with a cup of cucumber water. The restaurant and massage are however worthy stops too.

Years ago I would have recommended this place hands down. Unfortunately the experience has declined. I feel there are better options elsewhere in Santa Fe that offer a better experience. I would not recommend lodging or a spa package. Price point does not reflect. This is a very busy / anxious environment. Disorganized reservation staff / juggling of services. It... More

This is a remarkably beautiful place set in the high forest of New Mexican mountains. The resort winds it's way up the mountain. On the property are a spa, a restaurant and lodging. Drive up, the spa is high on the right side of the property. Too many parking signs, not enough "spa" directional signs. The design of the place... More
