VERY nice tour of a cave; walkway down is steep and narrow you descent a lot in 1/2 a mile; it is even harder coming back up; be prepared; lots of bugs; need bug spray and sunscreen and water; bring a small flashlight as some areas in the cave are not too well it; try and do the earliest tour;... I revisit this cave every couple years and enter the raffle for the wild tour as well. Descriptors like breathtaking and incredible don't give you the sense of wonder the cave inspires. My first cave trip and what a great experience. The tour was reasonably priced, educational and more beautiful than I could have anticipated. Perfect side trip for a family with kids.

It entailed a long winding drive and then a 1/2-mile hike down to Crystal Cave, but it was worth the trip. It's not as big as Mammoth Caves, but the hike down and then up (the equivalent of climbing to the 34th Floor of a building) was worth it. The Crystal Caves are beautiful, but seeing them from the depths of the tunnels and caverns is something so unique and amazing that I can't even put into words.
