A quick but good visit

I like the place very much. It is great to see how the Indian lived under the rock in small houses. The hike was not too hard, but gave you a good exercise. Nothing is great... read more

We had visited the Grand Canyon the day before. We could not hike into that canyon. We were able to hike into this one and it was fun and very interesting as the hike was around this area where many Indian cave dwellings were. We took many pictures and enjoyed the views.

Many of the reviews on this page are for the route 89a from sedona to flagstaff. Walnut creek is east of flagstaff not southwest. There are 2 walnut canyong roads, the old gravel road heading northeast from the walnut canyong national monument and the new paved road going straight north. The paved road is nice, smooth and short running only... More

The road from Flagsatff to Sedona is gorgeous feast for the eyes. The geology alone is a stunner. It is a good road, however it is a winding road.It follows a river, so you can count on many curves. If you catch it on a holiday or other high traffic day, as we did, there is a good deal of... More

We drove this route en route to Flagstaff from Sedona. A beautiful drive, with stunning scenery even in the rain.

This drive is very safe with all kinds of views and areas to pull over and take pictures. There was very little traffic so I was able to slow down and just enjoy the area. It is part of your trip into walnut canyon, which is a great experience.

Great place to visit all year round. Bring your mountain bike and ride around the rim. The rangers are very knowledgeable and engaging.

The drive into Walnut Canyon is very unremarkable. The ruins there are wonderful, although not at all colorful and unfortunately not easy to access unless you have excellent physical and aerobic fitness. If you cannot hike up and down many many stairs I would skip this attraction and save the admission fee. You can see one of the ruins from... More

Went from Flagstaff to Sedona on this road. It is very scenic and well worth the time. Road is curvy so take your time and enjoy the scenery. When you get to Sedona, you have more treats in store

This national monument is worth the stop. In the Summer bring plenty of water and good walking shoes any time of year.
