We visited on late November, and everything was hopping. I can't imagine what it must be like in the peak tourist season. Great historic hotels, buildings and other sites are everywhere. Lots of neat shops, if you so choose. Well worth taking an afternoon to...More

I was passing through Flagstaff and had a few minutes to burn so I walked around the historic area and enjoyed the old town and architecture. Enjoy.

Maybe I'm too old, but things that operated during my lifetime are hard for me to classify as historic. This is a fun old part of town that celebrates when the only reason for Flagstaff was to have a place to service the trains going...More

The historic area of Flagstaff is cute, small, and pretty typical of historic western downtowns. That said, if you start by going to the visitor center in the 1932 train depot you can get a booklet that guides you through a walking tour of the...More

Downtown Flagstaff is a fun, busy center made for walking. Lots of great restaurants to choose from, fun shops to browse clean sidewalks, good lighting at night, and quaint.

Parked at the Visitors Center and went in for a look. It was almost closing time so they were preparing to close and we did not feel we should linger. We left our car in their lot and walked around the downtown area. On this...More

Flagstaff is located on one of the busiest freight and passenger lines in the US. The town grew up as a result of railroad traffic, including tourists bound for world-renowned nearby attractions like the Grand Canyon, and the city does a fine job of continuing...More

Downtown Flagstaff is bustling with tourists and college students. There are many restaurants, coffee shops and interesting shoppes that I've enjoyed. Parking can be a problem so be prepared to walk from your parking spot.

There's a lot of places to eat, parks to visit, and small museums nearby in downtown. If you pick up a free copy of flagstaff live (which are everywhere in the town) then they will tell you when the events downtown are too.

Yes. There are lots of dogs in Flagstaff. Several stores have water bowls by their front door for furry friends.
