This is our first visit to the parks south unit. The visitor centers at Painted Canyon and Medora are quite nice. The staff was helpful and gave us some good tips on hikes and best place to see wildlife. Not only did we see the Bison herd and Prairie Dogs up close, but were able to see the wild horses... More

I brought my 4 kids here and was excited to ride horses through the badlands. The staff is very friendly and the horses were mild mannered. They're well equipped to help and handle inexperienced riders. My kids and I are not inexperienced and were a little disappointed to just take a single file slow walk with the horses, but don't... We had a wonderful morning on our 2 hour trail ride at Medora Riding Stables. I was impressed with how easily they worked to get us all saddled up and ready. We had two guides who kept us and our horses moving along. The scenery was amazing and we had a variety of it during the ride, including the National... More

Things started slow, I thought the ride would end up only a half hour or so but it was 60 minutes. I got a tall horse and as I was getting on the saddle slipped over a third way down side and it had to be tightened. Don't know if my horse was a bloater or not. I said my... More

Very good trail ride with great views and gentle horses. Sydney was our guide and she was interesting and informative. I thought this was a great way to see the Badlands. Exciting descent into the valley was especially memorable.

My niece & I did the 2 hour ride and had a great time. The horses were great and we saw some beautiful scenery. Our wranglers were both awesome also. I would definitely ride here again.

This is one of my favorite things to do in Medora. The horses are very calm, which makes for a great experience. The guides are excellent and friendly. I recommend going in the morning when it is cooler out. Very fun for the family!

My sister and I did the hour long trail ride and had the best time! We were paired with older horses which I was very happy about because we haven't been on a horse in like 26 years! Our horses were so good and stayed on the path. If I had to stop my horse he always listened to my... More

Our original ride was canceled due to rain the night before. They rescheduled us for the next morning. Pro- The horses knew their route well. They could be brought back to trail easily if they vear off (and they do). The people worked with us to find another time because we drove a long way. Cons- 1. They give you... More
