Go a little early or risk not getting into a bar.

Great place to go if you like chaos, drunk young people, possible fights... great music in some of the clubs if you like dancing, most places have rude/mean bouncers, good scene if you're in you're early 20's and don't mind craziness. Haven't been in a few years... don't plan to be either.

Granted, its mid-July. I don't know whether that is reasonable justification. My girlfriend and I visited Chippewa Club Zone on a Thursday evening at approximately 10.30pm, desperate for hydration. Though there were a few clubs open and cars on the road - venues appeared near empty, rather than half full. Party goers were college age. Not my thing. We found... More

30 years ago if you told anyone you were going to "Chippewa Street," they'd think it was for prostitutes or drugs. This former Red Light District has undergone a massive transformation over the past few decades and is now a patchwork of Buffalo's best hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs. Chippewa Street is positioned next to several hotels; Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn,... More

Because that's what you will find on Chippewa. Vomit, obnoxious frat boys, and stumbling bovine sorority chicks. If that's your thing, have at it. Better you than me.

My wife and I came down from Canada for the Wednesday night before American Thanksgiving. What a party! By 11:00 it is in full swing until past last call at 4:00 a.m. We dined at Bacchus which was excellent and stayed at the Hampton which is also very good and within crawling distance of the club zone if needed. Cover... More
