A very old church with ties to American history. Go when it is open and a docent is giving tours (check schedule) If you like places full of interesting stories, this is worth an hour or two of your time. There is more to Newport history than just the mansions!

This church is set on a public (Anne) square in the heart of town. Do stroll the grounds, but don't miss going in. This historic and well preserved church on American soil has some incredible Tiffany Windows, and even though partially blocked from interior viewing, are just fabulous - another testimonial to an enduring art form.

was a little taken aback by the tombstones which greet all visitors. That's common for the historical part of new England... headstones are everywhere!

Our group had just planned to look inside, but we were very fortunate to have a wonderful guided tour when we arrived. She told us so much history about the church and the people who had worshiped there. Definitely worth a stop.

This is a beautiful old church. Be sure to really look at the stained glass windows - they're by Tiffany. And oddly, the top part of the windows are blocked, so you have to maneuver to see the whole window.

I can't say enough good things about Trinity Church in Queen Anne Square in the heart of Newport. I've taken the tour several times and enjoyed it and learned new info every time I went. The Tiffany stained glass windows alone are worth the trip. One of the oldest churches in the country, Trinity's churchyard has grave markers dating back... More

I have been to many cathedrals and churches in many cities around the world, but had never seen one with closed-off pews--box seating "rented" by families of parishioners. Very unusual. We of course sat in the one where many luminaries had sat. Interesting tour guide.

Well worth touring this iconic historic church with numerous historic markers, then either walk around the historic, less frenzied neighborhoods of Newport (my preference) or down the path to Bowen's Wharf/Thames Street and a whole different scene.

We walked around the grounds of this beautiful old church so I could look at the 18th century graves. If you're into history I recommend this place.
