Beautiful views.

It is worth a drive through Fort Adams. The views are lovely and the visitor center is nice. If your doing the Ocean drive loop, this is a simple detour.

I was here way back in the mid 90's attending the Newport Jazz Festival. What a great show and awesome event! I then came back last year on vacation with my wife and we did a tour of Ft Adams. Incredible tour! Hint, get there early and you may get one of the smaller, guided tours that may take you... More

So much to learn about the history which birthed the United States and the New England area is the perfect place. This Fort was built, but never used... you'll have to visit to find out the reason.

We've toured a number of forts in the past, including Ticonderoga, McHenry & Sumter, but this was definitely one of the best. Our tour guide, Bill, did a great job. He made the tour fun and brought many aspects of the fort to life. The fort is quite large so expect some walking (wear comfortable shoes). There are some good... More

This place is huge, so be prepared to walk a fair amount. It's mostly handicap accessible, but there are some places that require going up and down stairs. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and had a good sense of humor. He really brought history alive in describing the construction of the fort and what life was like for the... More

Our tour guide Steve was AMAZING!! In Newport for girls weekend. No one in group wanted to go to a "Fort" but all changed their mind after our tour. Steve was a history teacher for 35 years. He brings Fort Adam to life. A MUST see - thank you for a great morning stepping back into history.

Apparently, this fort never really saw a battle but it is magnificent. It's a hug and it it a great place to explore. It is worth a visit. This fort does not get federal funding from what I learned. They reply on donations. So when we visited on Halloween and they turned the place into a Halloween attraction, we were... More

This tour takes about an hour. Our guide was very informative, and the time flew past. Without going in to the fort you really have no idea that it exists.

This fort is in much better condition than many of the others that I have seen. You are only admitted on a tour and the tours run a couple times a day. Our tour guide was very good. He kept the history exciting and did not make it feel like he was just reciting the same thing that he does... More
