Lovely little shop/artisan that is down the end of Thames away from the main shopping area. Friendly staff. Look for the "seconds" for value pricing!

My family of 11 came in today to make ornaments. From my nephew of 9 years old to my father of 67, we all had a wonderful time! Most importantly, my disabled sister had the time of her life and was made to feel so comfortable and important by Shane who is an amazing young man! We will definitely be... More

It's a fabulous little shop with a working staff. This studio has been producing hand blown glass for several decades, and it's fantastic to see they have continued this art form. I've been purchasing unique pieces for many years to commemorate weddings, Christmas and housewarming. Well worth a walk or drive down lower Thames to check them out.

We collect art glass along with beautiful ornaments. The studio is small but there were many pieces to choose from. The work area was not in use the day we visited but there is a viewing area to watch the artists work. We chose a small glass bowl with lovely blue and white swirls throughout. The prices were reasonable for... More

Visited Thames Glass early Nov of this year and had a great chance to see up close not only how blown glass is made, but to actually make a decorative pumpkin. My daughter and I had very personal (just the two of us) session lasting about 45 minutes. It probably helped that this was at the end of the tourist... More

BEAUTIFUL. We purchased an ornament while in Newport when we got married (2011), we've gotten an ornament every year since, whether there, or purchasing online. We went back this year (2016) for our ornament. We're planning to schedule a glass blowing lesson Thames Glass offers next time we visit Newport

Based on all the good reviews, we stopped here and watched the glass blowing process through a viewing window. Afterwards, we purchased a beautiful glass fish as a souvenir. The shop is a bit further down Thames street and parking can be difficult but it is well worth a short visit while visiting Newport.

Part of my birthday present was to make a glass paperweight at Thames Glass. I had never worked with molten glass before, but the shop artist guided me through every step. It was a lot of fun and the piece turned out great. I would recommend this as a fun project.

An unexpected find on our visit to Newport. We were able to try our hand at glass blowing or "shaping". Very helpful and knowledgeable artists and so much fun. Beautiful store as well where items can be purchased.

Really, really hot. Better precautions can be taken to sterilize the blowing tube. It was a shame that we had to ask the glass artisan did they have something to wipe the tube (that he had just blown through) off. Still, an unforgettable experience. The staff was wonderful and it's a once in a lifetime activity. Yes, it's on the... More
