Never again! We took our Grandaughters and their parents on what we hoped would be a fun and memorable Christmas experience! It was memorable alright but for all the wrong reasons! When we arrived on time our train was leaving the so-called station! We spoke to the person at the ticket booth! We were told they were running late to... More

The evening was a fun filled adventure with a delicious dinner and wonderfully accommodating staff. Everyone including the Owner, Cassandra, waitstaff and acting troup from Marley Bridges Theatre Company was outstanding. We understood this to be their first evening run for the Christmas Carol play and it was fantastic! My husband was even allowed to gain admittance due to a... More

While I have read the others review of the lunch train I will have to disagree. It appears they have changed since many others have traveled on the trip. The rail car is a nicely restored vintage dining car with comfortable seating. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. As to the views from the train; you travel through residential,... More

What a great experience! New owner Eric Moffet has hit the mark! Newly renovated dining car .. The Grand Bellevue Bistro is a winner. We had a three course gourmet meal...prepared fresh by an Executive Chef. We both had the beef tenderloin with roasted potatoes and wild rice, fresh bruschetta and salad, bread...and tarimisu for dessert! Bonus was the music...husband... More

the train trip was more than expected - the price for dinner and train trip was $29.95 - salad, entree and desert, coffee - tea - water - and the wait staff was excellent

the food was excellent, staff very accommodating. It was a very gentle rolling around the bay with wonderful views of the bay. It was cloudy so we did not get to see much of a sunset but it was very relaxing night.

What to say...I wish I could have those 90 minutes back. I don't understand why anyone would even think this should be a venue of any kind. All the views were horrible...trash all along the rails...where is the attraction? My husband and I went on, what was supposed to be, a girls lunch...they had booked, but couldn't make it. There... This train ride overall was very disappointing. The website was very misleading in terms of what to expect. I was deceived by the "build your own sundae" I was expecting this to be endless options in terms of ice cream customization and flavors to choose from. It was served in a pre-made plastic cup of half vanilla and chocolate. My sister... More

The Newport Dinner Train went out of business and was bought out by the new owners and is called the Newport & Narragansett Railway Co. They recent reopened and have similar offerings--dinner and lunch trains, ice cream trains, Murder on the Rails and the Polar Express. We chose to check it out on Father's Day weekend in June 2016. Everything... More

The description on the website is not accurate. This is a very boring experience. The train moves at a snail's pace through delapitated areas. The "ice cream" is bad (vanilla with artificial blue color or chocolate), and very few choices of toppings. This is served to you from a cart that passes through the one car. The person talking spoke... More
