Disappointing
Sep 2021 • Couples
Waste of time. My husband wanted to go so he booked a time slot for us. The email said to arrive an hour early to find parking, etc. We parked the car in about two minutes, there was plenty of space. They charge $1/ticket as a fee and although it’s very little money I find this disgusting, as NOBODY ever asked for our tickets so we could’ve just walk in for free, any time we wanted!! We planned our entire day around this freaking visit and turns out you can just casually walk in. The two things that would’ve been interesting weren’t available: the boat transporting guests to the memorial was out of service, and to visit the submarine one would have to pay $20/person. The theater was also closed—there was a small tv placed outside along with a few chairs where you could watch a short film (nothing that you can’t find on the internet).  Also wearing masks is mandatory although you are mostly outdoors. What a joke. Such a disappointment.

Really informative and well done
Sep 2021
We learned a lot at the Pearl Harbor Memorial and really enjoyed the visit. We arrived around 8:30 am and would definitely recommend getting there early. By the time we were leaving at 11 it was packed - with parking harder to come by and the attractions much harder to read because of so many other tourists.

We didn't do the boat ride (it was open when we were there on 9/3) but really thought everything we saw was excellent.

If you'll be in O'ahu this is definitely worth visiting!

ARIZONA MEMORIAL CLOSED TO VISITORS September 2021
Sep 2021
HEADS UP! THE TRIP OUT TO THE ARIZONA BY BOAT IS CLOSED. Closed as of Sept 10, 2021. We got up at 4 am and flew from Maui just to go out to the Arizona. There is some problem out at the Arizona Memorial and NO one can go out. The rangers said emails were sent out recently to let people with reservations know but many emails went to spam for whatever the reason. We had seen the other sites at Pearl before but were unable to get tickets for the Arizona so we booked way ahead, made sure we met all the COVid requirements, etc. but it was not meant to be. The rangers were very nice but it was hot and very disappointing. So if going out to the Arizona is in your plans - DOUBLE CHECK if it is going to be open - the day before and then day of. Rangers told us it was closed indefinitely.

A "must-see" if visiting Honolulu
Sep 2021
The USS Arizona Memorial is somewhere that every visitor to Honolulu should visit at least once. The memorial and other exhibits are worth taking a morning out of your day to pay respects to those who paid the ultimate price in service to our country.

Our Pearl Harbor experience
Aug 2021 • Couples
We didn't have much time to see the memorial but we did get enough to feel it emotionally. Admission is free but make sure you give yourself enough time to actually read everything. We started in the museums and worked out way around going clockwise. Where we started after the museums was to the left, in the distance on the water you could see the USS Arizona memorial site. As I mentioned previously, our visit was a little less than an hour and a half so allow yourself the time to see and experience everything this has to offer.

Beautiful Pearl Harbor memorial trip
Aug 2021 • Family
We visited Pearl Harbor memorial on Sunday August 15th to pay respects to the fallen soldiers. We took a taxi from Hilton Hawaiian village and the cost was $45. We did not have reservations for the Arizona but we stood in the stand by line but we got in quickly. Everything was well organized and the place was beautiful. We did all the free stuff but there were some museums that you had to pay for. Entry was free to the park and if you came with a car parking is free. Taxis back to the hotel are available in the parking lot.

Convenient free parking, easily accesible
Aug 2021
This was our second visit so we didn't approach it quite the same. Our son was interested and didn't remember much from our first visit. I was able to get USS Arizona tickets on recreation.gov the day before or I don't think we would have bothered to go. The main Memorial is nice in that it's spread out and you can walk around to the various buildings or displays at your leisure. We did not do the submarine tour which was an extra cost that I had forgotten about. We also did a self-guided narrated tour and I think that helped us spend more time at different spots. Parking is free - that's nice, and easy to get in and out. YOU CAN NOT BRING IN BAGS OR PURSES. This info is noted everywhere but people didn't seem to know and were turned away a lot. They do offer lockers but just plan ahead. We carried our phones and wallets in our pockets and that worked. I'm sure you can spend a ton of time here but we were in/out in about 1 1/2 hours and that worked for us.

The History behind this is so educating a must visit
Aug 2021 • Family
We enjoyed this attraction. We took a tour of the submarine. All I can say is how did they do it inside of that thing. It’s so tight and the sleeping quarters are very undesirable.

Not the same
Aug 2021
Having been here multiple times in the past, I was excited to bring my children here for the first time. Obviously there are changes due to COVID, but now it has become more of a tourist trap then a national monument. The only part that continues to be free is the memorial itself, though now you have to reserve online. The rest is expensive. To enter the area where the Bowfin tour is requires $20 per adult and $12.99 per child. Though there is a military discount, apparently that only applies for active duty as I was denied the discount as a Veteran, as were my wife and children. The only real food available is beyond this entrance, so if you are hungry for overpriced hot dogs or hamburgers, you have to pay $20 just to access the area. I didn't even bother to try and see the Missouri this time as the cost for the six of us was prohibitive. I am just glad I was able to see this before it became just another Hawaii tourist trap
