Great and easy hike! Was easy to go at the top, took us about 1.5 hours roundtrip. Be sure to bring water with you and a camera as you will want to take pictures of the crater and Waikiki!! We saw many kids hike the...More

Arrive early, gates open @ 6am. Taxi will drop you off @ the ticket booth, cost bout $12 from the zoo area. We hiked at a decent pace and spent about 15 mins at the top and were back at the starting point within 1...More

Our family ranged in age from 10 to 70 but along the walk we met younger and older people. The view from the top is breathtaking and definitely worth the trek. No need to take a taxi as buses stop at the foot of the...More

When you get to the "really high staircase" take the left path instead; much easier on the legs and more scenery. You will come down that staircase instead.

Nice experience. Once you go at the top, you can see a nice view. Parking is problem. You may have to park your car far from the location.

A quick & satisfying hike with 100+ steps at the end to get to the lookout platform. We hike Diamond Head on our annual visit to Honolulu & it's always a pleasure! Wear good shoes, much of the path is rocky & uneven.

The park opens at 6 am; we were there by 6:15. Still 30-40 people ahead of us, and we were very surprised when, about halfway up, we met 4-5 people running back down! We guess they pay the $1 entrance to use it as a...More

This hike is a pretty tough one but it is doable. I'm not in the best shape but I made it. The stairs are pretty tough on your legs but once you get to the top, it is worth it. Seeing the blue water and...More

Challenging but the reward is Great views once you get to the top... plenty of sites to take photos. Go early as it gets crowded but everyone expects it and it's no bother.

This hike is worth the time if you can fit it in. We went very early but it was still extremely crowded. The parking is scarce. Most cars had to come up and go back down since the lot is small and there is only...More

Hi Kristy It's exactly 3kms from the Moana Surfrider hotel to the entrance of Diamond Head. It takes only about 15-20mins of brisk walking. It's a nice walk. Otherwise, there is one of those Connection Trolley buses you can... More

Check the local weather, then back up your arrival time by at least an hour due to traffic.

Hi, It is US$1 per person or $5 per car to enter the park. Our taxi driver stopped just before the entrance so we could pay per person. Enjoy! dlnr.hawaii.gov/dsp/parks/oahu/diamond-head-state-monument/
