The Ala Moana Center was amazing!! My family loved it, there were so many shops that we could go and check out, and a bunch of dining options that were so good. It was not that busy and if you need a place to go when you don't have anything planned then go to the center!!! Throughout the day in the middle of the center, there is this stage where you can o watch a mini luau for free!! The luau tells such a great story is so good. A lot of effort for the dancers to show up on a stage with over 100 people watching them. there is this one restaurant in the center that is so good it is like this store and they cook the food in front of you.!!! They don't have many vegetarian options but I suppose they won't way because it is such. The meals are very expensive like 80 per person but I suppose it is that way because they cook it in front of you. Overall it is not that busy and I loved the experience.

The Ala Moana Center in Honolulu is the world's largest open air shopping center with over 350 shops and over 150 food options. It offers shops for every need in every price segment, from inexpensive shops to 4 department stores to luxury boutiques. In addition, it also offers a variety of entertainment options such as free Hawaiian Hula shows and fashion shows. There is a huge free parking garage available for those arriving by car. Since it is very close to Ala Moana Beach Park, it can be easily connected. A stroll through the tropical ambience of the Ala Moana Center is particularly suitable on cloudy days, but keep in mind that prices in Hawaii are higher than those in the mainland US.

Where do I begin!?? This place is huge! It calls itself the world's largest outdoor shopping center and I believe it. Over 350 stores plus over 30 places to grab a bite. You can explore the stores of Waikiki but this is a little more efficient having many of the same stores all put together. They even have live entertainment in the evenings and, sometimes during the day.

There are a number of average priced stores here, but the majority are designer stores. Lots of restaurants and fast food outlets in the food court and throughout the shopping center. There's plenty of parking but it does get busy. We went there shortly after opening and found parking easily, and the second time was just before 11am and it was pretty full already.

Ala Moana Center is one of the best known places in Honolulu. It's a transport hub with most buses leaving from here, but is more famous as a shopping mall. It claims to be the biggest in the world. Cannot judge on that, but its certainly huge. However, it mostly with high end stores, so we only walked through buying some souvenirs and gifts.

You can really shop until you drop here. Plenty of branded stores as well as Hawaiian branded stores. You can spend as much or as little as you choose. For those under the misconception that items at the high end stores (Gucci, LV etc) are cheaper than the main land, the savings are minimal and in some cases not even 2% if that. For example the price of Gucci shoes in Hawaii is the same as mainland but handbags do carry a discount. Sales tax is cheaper here if you pay over 5% in your home state.

Very interesting place filled with shops of all kinds.
The added value lies in the fact that it is open air!
All the shops are air conditioned and it is good because under the weight of bags under the sun, it is quickly hot.
Accessible on foot (about 30 minutes from quiet Waikiki) or by bus (10-15 minutes from Waikiki), the center will allow you to spend the day widely, with a 4th floor filled with restaurants and other tasteful joys.
Not to be missed

This mall is huge and has pretty much every store you might want to shop at, including luxury high end stores, and even a Foodland grocery store. I read that it is the world's largest open air shopping center. We came here to walk around and to watch the free daily hula show at 5pm on the Centerstage.
The mall is both outdoors and indoors and has free parking. To get to Foodland, we had to walk across the parking lot from the rest of the mall. This Foodland was very convenient for us since we stayed in the Waikiki area while on Oahu.

Depending on what you're looking for, this mall can be the right place or a waste of time. Most of the stores are high-end luxury chains that I had no desire to shop in; however, there is a food court and other dining options, and it's a nice place to walk through in the open air if you have a bit of time to kill I was disappointed not to find any local businesses to shop in. Very conveniently located near the Ala Moana beach and park.

We walked from Waikiki on the way there and took the ANA shuttle bus on the way back.
I was introduced to the store and toilet I was looking for beforehand via YouTube, so I was able to get around smoothly.
Most of the shops are in the Waikiki neighborhood, so I don't think I should bother going there.

Hello, Hi, do you have lockers for hand luggage size/ carry on? Thank you.
Written 16 February 2020
pretty sure they don't but you can leave your luggage with the porters who have the luggage in an area only accessible by them so it would be safe.

Hi i would like to know if there is a supermarket in ala moana center. thank you
Written 11 February 2020
Se non ricordo male non ci sono supermercati ma solo negozi e boutique e qualche ristorante
Al livello più basso, quello dei parcheggi, ci sono poi i ristoranti quelli più economici

Does anyone know if the prices in Hawaii are cheaper than the Desert Hills Outlet (California) Gucci store?

Anyone compared prices from the UK to this shopping mall? It would be interesting to know if it was cheaper here rather than in the U.K.
Anyone else know if the mall is more expensive than say shopping in San Fran?
Thanks everyone- pretty random questions but it would be great to find some answers out before I begin my shopping.
Written 23 February 2018
i think it's depend which brands you are comparing. Moana isn't any cheap shopping mall , many fine and expensive brands but very nice mall anyway.
If you are shopping and it's sale and discounts you can find good deals.
Macy's are good and if you have Macy's card you got more offers.
San Francisco premium outlets are cheaper as the most store in US.
Hawaii are more expensive then the mainland.
If you want to buy cheaper, go to premium outlets waikele in Hawaii Oahu.
Good luck!
