A small, well thought out museum. Some old masters along with newer Hawaiian artists. Well worth the time.

Wonderful Japanese and Chinese collections. It is a very attractive architecture with 3 lovely courtyard gardens that as you view the exhibits inside, you can rest your eyes on the lovely lush greenery outside from time to time. It has a small but very good European painting collection as well. I was surprised to see one of my favorite painter,... More

Small museum with a nice mixture of Asian and Islamic art. Quiet and peaceful in a residential setting. Was the gathering point for boarding our shuttle to Shangri La, Doris Duke's home, now museum of Islamic art.

First visit to this fairly large art museum with a good variety of art including that from the distant past and from different countries. Art was well displayed and identified.

We had a docent who walked us through several exhibits and was very knowledgeable of art. Great gift shop and cafe. I think this is a location you don't want... More

We were delighted by the works by Moroni, Crivelli, and so many others from more recent periods too numerous to cite. Knowing that Honolulu Museum of Art curators take advantage of International Council... More
