Another must do place to visit while in Pearl Harbor, you get a set of head phones for a self guided tour, that is great. You can press numbers again if you missed anything in the narration. Photo opportunities, you can see how cramped, how little room the sailors had etc., etc.,. Then the Museum is near it free entry... More

$12 audio tour worth it! It is amazing how the men had to live! Visit this submarine at Pearl Harbor while waiting for your tour!

Went there while on vacation and the experience was very humbling. Although I knew some of the basic history, If you are claustrophobic be aware you might not like it too much as the inside can feel very encloused.

A must see, it is part of the Arizona experience and you can also visit the Missouri at the same time. All a full day to do the visit.

USS Bowfin is a very interesting tour of a highly decorated WWII submarine. Walking thru the torpedo rooms and the quarters these brave sailors lived and fought the enemy, was amazing .

To spend time walking through the submarine gives a reality factor you really can get just through seeing one or reading about living in one. I'm glad some can do it - I'd go nuts! Great lessons about the history of the Bowfin and life on a sub. Take a look overboard to check fish nibbling the sides. Save it... More

If you're in Oahu, you must visit this submarine. It was a very nice experience and the staff even took a picture and printed it as a newspaper item :-)

Visiting on a hot day a was sure we were headed for a steaming hot crowded misery... but was surprised very positively. The attraction had a nice flow to it, all within air-conditioned area. The headsets provided allowed everyone (even kids aged between 9-13) to get a feel of what it was like to serve in one of the subs.... More

I have been interested in WWII history for many years. The USS Bowfin, the "Avenger of Pearl Harbor" made 9 patrols and sunk 44 japanese vessels during the war, and suffered only one casualty, and injured leg. Go, see how 80 some sailors were crammed into this oversized cigar tube.

This is a chance to explore the inside of a real navy submarine. The first thing that you will notice is that the inside of the submarine is quite cramped. It is hard to imagine living inside one of these for months at a time. My son enjoyed it - we spent about 30 minutes to see the entire ship.
