A nice park with beaches, walkways, and green areas

Another nice park close to the buzz of the city, but much more serene. A good place to relax, take a swim or just walk around. Has some nice banyon trees with open spaces. A good place to go that has some breathing space compared to others.

This is a very nice, relatively small beach area near K park. It is away from Waikiki so it is not as busy and much quieter. Decent basic snorkeling depending upon the day. Lifeguard present. Ask lifeguard about any currents if swimming or snorkeling. A nice 'getaway' from the over-busy Waikiki area.

5 minutes walk from Kuhio beach. No construction or traffic noise were heard. I found the snorkeling there to be surprisingly good! I wasn't expecting much right in Waikiki. It was pretty rocky and we didn't go far, but my daughter had great time.

Hear me out. This is a very easy to visit snorkel spot. I would suggest it for beginners and those who are a bit shy of the open ocean. This is a beach used by many locals, a short walk away from Waikiki and Kuhio beaches. Enter the water from the western side of the easternmost jetty (waterbreak thing). Small... More

If you are looking for a more mellow beach in Waikiki where more locals hang out, this is the beach you want to check out to avoid the busy crowd in Waikiki! From main beach in Waikiki at the end of Kapahulu Ave, you head North along the boardwalk. Great to walk around and appreciate more of the laid back... More

At the quiet eastern end of Kalakaua Avenue. The Kaimana/San Souci beach is a small beach in front of the The New Otani / Kamana Beach Hotel and the eastern end of the Natatorium. There is a small sandy beach area for sitting, wading, and swimming. It is a quiet relaxing area and the water activities are more for the... More

If you want to see how locals enjoy a day on the beach, this is the place. Located opposite Kapiolani Park, near the Zoo, you have showers/bathroom/changing facilities. The waves are mild and you can paddle board or swim.

The beach here is my favorite of the 8 sections that comprise Waikiki Beach. It is quiet, the waters are calm, and the beach is not obstructed by hotels. A lovely of all the beaches on the island as that they are free to the public and hotels thereby cannot horde properties on beach areas and limit access to paying... More

Sans Souci Beach Park is a 10-15 minute walk from the east side of Waikiki. It's worth the effort. The beach is wide and the water is unobstructed but calm. Clearly this is a beach that the locals use (and, in some cases, bring their dogs -- a plus for me).

This has been my favorite beach since moving to Honolulu in 1985 when I found this beach in the evening after having a few cocktails at an adjacent restaurant and wanting to walk home down Waikiki beach! Perfect spot for a sunset, morning/afternoon swim and you'll never know who you'll run in to since this is a favorite among Hollywood... More
