Waikiki Beach is crowded, expensive and overflowing with an excited vibe in the air. The water is shallow for a long way from the shore and there were a gazillion people out there. I've never really seen that many people packed into an area of water...ever! And that's what I expected. It was fun !

Kalakaua is finish; Intl market place is redone. The whole avenue is 'spiffed' up waiting for you. So many things to see and places to eat. Venture down Lewers to see the changes. It's really changed.

Gorgeous crystal clear water and powder soft sand. There are sunny and shaded places to sit and watch the surf and surfers. It can get crowded but there are plenty of places to relax. It is an amazing place.

My husband and I walked the length of the beach every day of our vacation on Waikiki. The area near the Hilton was packed with people. The areas farther from town had lovely stretches of empty beach. Sunset from Waikiki is gorgeous so are the fireworks on Friday nights.

A wonderful "tourist" beach, with plenty of shopping, food, and entertainment options close by. The beach was clean and provided a great place to participate in recreation, i.e.: Snorkel, boating, paddle boarding. Also a great spot to watch the sunset in Honolulu.

Waikiki beach is a great clean beach, excellent for SUP and beginner surfing. The water is clear and sandy bottomed, safe for many ages to play in and surprisingly a block off from shops .. with this you still feel removed from the hustle and bustle of a big city.

It's highly commercialized of course. But it's still pretty and a great view. Just not the best attraction on the island.
