Nice falls

Nice very easy hike for small kids, kind of hidden away making it a bit secluded. Only 3 minutes from the parking lot behind the semitary.

Easiest way to get here is from the Pali highway- there a scenic view spot to park your car just walk back along the shoulder about 500ft and hop over the small stone wall. That's it, you're there, a whole 2minute walk? There's some light trash but really it's the somewhat thick foliage that's a turn off and annoying, so... More

This is an easy, a little muddy (expected) and very short rainforest hike BUT be prepared to be eaten alive by mosquitoes. I had sprayed lots of insect repellent because I expected mozzies, but they bit me anyway. There were also lots of fruit fly type insects swarming around :( I would never jump into the pool at the bottom... More

Went there because people said it's really beautiful and good place to swim. Lies! There was trash everywhere like empty beer bottles, paper cups and old rubber sandals. Lots of mosquitoes and flies in the area. The water is really dirty and I couldn't see anything in the water. My friend and I opted out of going inside. Super sketch.... More

My little brother passed away at the Falls 01 Sept. 2014. May he rest in peace. My message to everyone is to be safe. Kepena falls is not a recognized hiking trail therefore it is not maintained by the state. There are homeless people living there, and the stream is contaminated with leptospirosis. People often go there to jump off... More

Do not go here. Kapena falls is ruined with trash all along the river up to the falls. To reach the falls there is two ways, the Pali freeway (which you have to walk back up the freeway about 50 ft ,after parking car at a scenic pullout where many people report car break ins,(I saw shattered glass everywhere)then jump... Swam beside these falls and beside the falls and got some great photo ops. The water is brown but not dirty and the bottom is very rocky so, water shoes are recommended. Water is also cold but worth it!
