The welcome center is great, providing lots of materials and books you wouldn’t normally be able to find elsewhere. The guides are very helpful. The drive around the park provides lots of stops to get out and explore, see the sites, and read the plaques....More

This is a haunting place to visit, that puts in perspective everything you have read or heard about the civil war battles. To see the trenches and the proximity of the battle lines gave me a real chill.

Thousands of dead people. Great for serious Civil War Buffs. This would be a must see if you are anywhere near.

Watch the orientation move in the visitor center, get a map, then embark on the driving tour. Lots of interesting stops on the way.

The Battle or the Campaign of Vicksburg has been studied for hundreds of years in order to gain insight into military grand strategy. I highly recommend visiting and spending a lot of time here.

Been here many times and always struck by the number of American lives lost in this battle. Don't miss the USS Cairo Museum.

History at your fingertips. No need for fancy display cases. The fortifications and tunnels are part of the driving tour. Get the audio tour to carry in your car as you navigate the roads in the military park.
