Great museum for people who love railroad or ship models. Some very talented people created a wide range of ships and boats from US history. We especially enjoyed the diorama of the Vicksburg battlefield. Having just ridden the entire tour, this diorama showed us how...More

Very great place to view a battlefield replica. Really helped us to see the whole battlefield area and understand the basics after seeing the real park. May want to view this first. Also a really great train set up!! Cool old train station, too!

My Grandfather, William Calohan. was the Illinois Central freight agent in charge of this place in the 1930s. It has now become a location for Vicksburg hospitality and headquarter of the cities' visitor center.

The best thing here is the model of the Vicksburg battlefield; I recommend seeing this first before touring the battlefield itself. There's also an interesting half-hour video on the siege. Otherwise, not much here. There's little remaining evidence this was a depot, and there aren't...More

This place isn't specific to the railroad industry, but contains model trains (3 separate glassed off areas), a variety of model watercraft, and a diorama of the civil-war battlefield. It was interesting, and the price was right ($5) for what you get. I couldn't help...More
