The new owners are a young couple who are working hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Beautiful home with a stunning pool area and a terrific breakfast. Great place to stay if visiting the battlefield.

We were there just for the tour not the bed and breakfast. Our tour consisted of watching a 20- minute video tour of the home and its history and then a self guided tour through the downstairs only. It was not worth the time or money!

We could not have had a better experience in Vicksburg. On a this road trip we have have stayed in some great places, but Anchuca was particularly memorable due the warmth & friendliness of the staff.
Our room was clean & well presented. You can always tell when a place that is managed by its owner, because of the attention to detail. That's thanks to Sam, who although relatively new to the job, intends to maintain high standards of hospitality, Southern style. Good luck to him for the future, as he deserves it and I am sure it will follow given our experience.

We had one night here and really loved the accommodation. The Wilson room is gorgeous. I particularly liked the period setting and high ceilings. It was great having a choice of bath or walk in shower - in separate rooms!
The bed was extremely comfortable. We had so much space, it was wonderful!
The included breakfast comes as a set dish which was disappointing - and wasteful as we are vegetarians. It would be far much efficient to be given a basic choice rather than be faced with a dish you did not order and cannot eat.
Overall a wonderful stay.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting from Scotland on our honeymoon. We had a room in one of the outhouses which was just what we needed- quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately we slept in for breakfast but were still able to take the self guided tour which was really interesting. Pool area looked lovely but we never used it. Staff very pleasant. Thanks!

Best lunch of trip! We drove thru Vicksburg military park and wanted Sunday brunch, it was fabulous. Salad, seafood gumbo and my husband had chicken pot pie with homemade rolls and peach cobbler dessert.
House tour not available on Sundays, looked like interesting place.

Having spent the day on the Blues Highway, I finally arrived at the Anchuca Mansion and was not disappointed! Everyone was friendly and very accommodating to make sure my stay would be great. Keri, the innkeeper on duty, recommended I take a dip in their pool after the long drive from Clarksdale via Natchez. A Great Idea! The accommodations were good and king bed was very comfortable. The AC was a bit chilly overnight, but considering Mississippi in July, it was manageable. The next morning the smell of bacon sizzling wafted into my room, due to my location above the kitchen. FYI, the breakfast was excellent, complete with cinnamon infused coffee, french toast, scrambled eggs, biscuits, and fruit. The location is in the historic area, but to go to the shops in center city, I would recommend a car, due to very steep hills. Also, Vicksburg is not a great place to ride your bike, if you're a converted flatlander now living inTexas. If you want a taste of elegance and history, I would thoroughly recommend Anchuca Mansion, after all it translates to "Happy Home."

A dinner for 2 after a long day of sightseeing. The atmosphere was relaxing and beautiful. The service was outstanding. Kerri was a delight. The food was DELICIOUS! Melt in your mouth steak, perfect wine and southern food.
