Iconic spot in Downtown Cincinnati. Symbolic center of the city since 1871. It looks and sounds like it could be a great place to hang out, but you need to catch it at the right time and day. I visited on a Saturday early afternoon in July after it had been raining earlier in the day. The rain had stopped but it was deserted as was much of downtown Cincinnati. I assume it is very different if a sporting event is going on downtown or if there is music playing at night or if the sun is out and shining. I will look forward to experiencing it again some time under the right conditions.

We decided to check out downtown after business hours and found the Fountain Square alive with salsa music and dancers! It was wonderful! There were people of all ages there having a wonderful time. We found out that there is something (free) happening almost every night on Fountain Square. 100% worth checking out!

I was in town for business and staying at the nearby Hilton. I was surprised that Fountain Square was so close, so I wandered over twice: once at lunchtime and once after dinner. They were having a Latin band performing in the evening and people were enjoying dancing and socializing. I probably wouldn't have known what this place was if it wasn't for the opening credits from "WKRP in Cincinnati" but I was glad I stopped by.

Walked through on our way to the Aronoff. If you want to go ice skating on a Saturday evening… make sure to sign up on their website several days early!!! It’s no longer first come first served. The fountain is off for the season now too.

The square itself is relatively small, so there isn't room for much. There were some small tables set out with umbrellas along the south side of the square. There were 2 food trucks parked along the street, one selling Mexican food. I chose to get an order of Mexican street corn, which was decent. It was a workday and it past the regular lunch time when I was there, so maybe that's why it was fairly quiet without much going on. The fountain is pretty, but there isn't much to do except spend a few minutes walking around it.

We found Fountain Square on accident. We happened to come out onto the square from the parking garage. We spent time taking pictures of the fountain, listening to the music playing from the speaker, and even came back later to get ice cream! It was a great way to keep track of where we needed to be. Pretty fountain even when the water isn't flowing.

I was coming to this location for a some kind of Fashion Show on a Sunday afternoon. Vendors arrived at 1pm, but I missed the memo about the Fashion starting much much later. I could not stay to see it. I did visit a couple of Vendors. I got a bit of lunch from a food vendor. Walked the perimeter of the square. Nice venue for events. It was extremely hot in the squares main central area. I believe as the day went on the area would not be as hot as it was at 1pm, with the sun still high in the sky. I parked that Fountain Square North parking garage. Extremely convenient.
There was this beautiful black fountain in the center of the square. I was told by a square attendant , that the fountain has been recently renovated. It looked good, and the water was flowing.

Traveling here from Virginia I was not expecting it to be hotter. After several miles of walking the neighborhood it was nice to stop for a lemonade and a seat. The park was clean with excellent food service using tent service and a food truck.

So nice to see people ice skating and having fun at Fountain Square during the holidays (and COVID)! The music and lights are nice and festive. The area has food and coffee options that are open as well. If you can ice skate, this is a great place for some fun times!

We went to downtown Cincinatti by taxi, while we were staying in Florence KY. To see what Cincinatti had to offer and the taxi driver recommended Fountain Square as the main part for us tourists, so that is where he dropped us off.

This is the centre of the city with its charming old water fountain; the fountain itself is an attraction. The square looks like a great place to meet, eat and socialize. And there are the pig sculptures of all different styles and colours all over downtown. When we went there wasn't any music or anything going on? It looked like it had the potential to be a pretty good place for an evening. We were just there during the early afternoon, but it was all set up for music ready for that night. There is a stage with amplifiers and speakers that broadcast pop music for up to three to four hours every night. There is free music in the square by nice old fountain. Plenty of food options around square, shopping just across the street.

Not a lot else there for tourists, Cincinatti was a clean well built up area but we could not find much to do there. The toilets around the square were locked during the day and the honey buckets were turned around so you could not use them, when we were there and we struggled to find any available to use, we asked a shopping centre assistant and she directed us to the local library, where we casually walked in past the front desk and in front of you to your right are the toilets.

Go to a Cincinnati Reds game that was great and the best thing we did on our visit to Ohio.
