Went here on a Wed and it was a great hike! It first starts out going straight up the mountain, but the path was gravel and safe. You then work your way down into a valley with pasture land and a beautiful creek. My only regret is that I didn't bring my fly rod! I saw several people fishing and... More

The Junction Butte Pack's den was visibe right from Slough Creek's main road. Every morning at dawn the pups would come out and play. Amazing! In general, Slough Creek was an amazing location for wildlife.

I had read about this drive so we took the drive hoping to spot a fox and we did! Bumpy gravel road but not too bad.

We were told in several reviews and planning articles his was the best to see bears and wolves. Even our Eco tour guide told us to come here. So we set off from our lodging at 04:45 for the journey to Slough Creek. We saw a Black Bear on the roadside whilst on the way so we were buzzing when... More

A great place to put our RV for several nights to see the wolf pups, grizzlies and drive only a few miles to see 1000's of grizzlies with their babies! No hook ups and it does not open until May 15th. There is a beautiful creek running through the park!

Bring a high quality spotting scope and show up by about 7am. You can hire a guide (worth it... try Wolftracker out of Gardiner MT) or you can rent a scope. You will see group's of folks gathered on hilltops looking north toward the ridge. Really fun to watch the wolves, see the cubs rolling on each other, and we... More

We spent some early morning quality time with wolf spotters here. We saw a heard of Big Horn Sheep and met a couple of Wolf pups and their parents. With a spotting scope you can see the entry of the wolves den here.

But so very nice. Hiking as a family, we only made it to the upper meadows where bugling elk were enjoyed and a grizzly was seen from a safe distance. Much of the park is quiet and Infrequently visited in the autumn but I have the impression this area is largely unknown except to fly fishing anglers and those who... More

Our group of 38 teens helped build parking bumpers and thoroughly enjoyed the creek running by the parking lot and the beautiful views. On the road to Slough Creek we stopped and saw 10 wolves from one of the pack running up the hillside. This time of year was definitely cold but amazing because almost no one else was in... More
