This is a large and fertile valley that offers the visitors an opportunity to spot wildlife. It is not uncommon to see bear and wolves in this location within the Park. There are vast expanses to be viewed so be sure you bring field glasses or a spotting scope. If you plan on spotting for the better part of the... More

Drove through here on the way to Trout Lake Hike in the northeast part of the park. Be prepared for a long drive...and enjoy it! Lots of pullouts with Bison and elk galore. You will likely hit some bison road traffic, which is a fun experience itself! Coolest though, we saw a momma black bear and two baby cubs on... More

A North American safari! It's amazing to see so many incredible animals in the United States. Bring a very good pair of binoculars or better yet, rent a spotting scope. Wolves and bears in particular are far from the road. Such a beautiful place.

Can't say enough about how beautiful the Lamar Valley is. If you want to see Busin the way they were years ago, this is the place to go.

Lamar Valley held our attention for hours. There are many pullouts to gaze upon the expansive views of wildlife, rushing rivers, soaring mountains, wild flowers and wide open skies. We saw more bison mothers and babies than I could count, 3 coyotes, numerous elk, bald eagles, blue birds, wood ducks, swan, geese..

Lamar Valley is a must do in Yellowstone. It is best to go early in the morning to look for wolf. You can always find lots of wildlife in this area of the park. Must do in Yellowstone!
