A fun, at times, steep, hike up to a lovely waterfall, with some great views of the river and valley below along the way.

Set off from near Old Faithful towards Biscuit Basin and accidentally stumbled upon the Mystic Falls Trail and it turned out to be one of the better memories from my Tour of National Parks And Canyon Country. The steep bit going up hill I'm ashamed...More

Mystic Falls Trail starts from the west end of the Biscuit Basin boardwalk and ends at the base of the 70 ft/21 m waterfall. The moderately-rated trail is 2.5 mi/4 km long. My husband and I did the trail around 10am on a Monday in...More

the hike up to mystic falls is not for the lazy or weak, its a good trek but worth the effort for those fit enough to walk it.

Hiked the Mystic Falls Trail in September, 2017. We saw a River Otter and 2 pups and were able to follow them up the river to Mystic Falls and watched them climb the slope to go around the Falls. It was amazing. The trail is...More

A short hike from the Biscuit Basin gets you to this beautiful area with quite a pretty waterfall. Definitely make time to see it if you are able to make the hike.

We decided to climb up to a lookout and never actually got to the Falls. But the lookout was so worth it. Not for sandals and hiking sticks are helpful but we saw Giant Geyser go off from a distance and it was spectacular.

This was a 'just right' length of hike. It's a little more than a mile from Biscuit Basin, so it doesn't take all day. It climbs steadily uphill, but it's not very steep. I think we were able to finish in about 2.5 hours. We...More

It was a nice walk, moderate ups and downs. Beautiful vistas along the river. The falls were nice, not full, nice. The walk back seemed nicer...views and some chipmunks at work in the trees, getting the pinecones to fall...to gather. So cute.
