If the park is not crowded like on a major holiday weekend you can drive to Glacier Point. It is a must see when visiting the park. So many places to take great pictures. Bathrooms on site and a gift store with ice cream. Hiking trails from and to Taft point. Be careful though, one visitor loss their hat and... More

This is one of the highlight of the Yosemite experience, accessible by car (if the road is open, check the condition!), so whole family could enjoy the stunning view!

The drive up to Glacier Point can be blocked if you go too early in the season. This year the road didn't open until mid-May and even then the sides of the road were still lined with compacted ice. The views looking out over Yosemite valley are un-paralleled and are a great way to get a panoramic overview of a... More

One of the most memorable things I did for my wife for our Anniversary. I did a last minute turnaround to Yosemite. We left at 10:30pm and arrived to Glacier Point to watch the sunrise over HalfDome.... It was so peaceful and so memorable. This was a 6 hrs drive. I highly recommend this or spend the night and wake... More

It was a longer drive up to reach it than expected, but glad we did travel up there. Snow was still on adding peaks. Can't see much detail inside the Yosemite Valley below, but got 1st glimpse of the beauty behind 1/2 dome, that you can't see from the Y.Valley trails.

Amazing experience... well worth the drive. We packed an ice chest and carried it to the viewing point. We had dinner while watching the sun set. It gets crowded so get there early to get a good spot for pictures and viewing.

Bring your camera because you are on top of the world and the Sierra's are stunning. If you enjoy hiking, there is a trailhead here to the Illilouette Falls. You can pass the Falls and hike over to Nevada Falls via the John Muir Trail. The road to Glacier Point is closed from November to May. While you are there,... More

We weren't sure we wanted to spend the time driving up the long road with the RV (24') But sure glad we did. The views are spectacular and the photos you get are wonderful. A few pot holes in the road, so don't be in a hurry. Quite a few great pull offs to take advantage of.
