1.5 hr drive from Yosemite Valley. Wish we had more time and energy, but we stuck to shorter, easier hikes as we’d hiked Half Dome the day before. The walk to Soda Springs provided a good view of the Meadows as well as Lembert dome....More

Again I can't say anything other than wonderful things about Yosemite and Tuolumne Meadows! I had the opportunity to work and drive up there and well if there's no snow...you've gotta go!!! Big trees, John Muir trail! Take it all in!!! Have fun!

You start off remember your about 7 1\2 to 8 thousand feet up so it does get pretty hot during the day and pretty cold at night. You do have a fire ring and a bear shelter make sure you put all your food in...More

This is more of a remote location of this monster of a park, but it is worth the drive. The meadows are often exploding with color. It is on the way to Lembert Dome (another great day hike). The views will take your breath away.

Tuolumne Meadows offers a very different perspective of Yosemite's beauty compared to Yosemite Valley. This high meadow environment offers beautiful wildflower meadows in the spring and summer, cool lake waters to dip your feet in, and good hiking trail options. Be sure to include this...More

I had the good fortune to be here in the early morning when the young bucks were sparring in the meadows. It is a beautiful pristine natural place.

Tioga Road may be off Broadway, but it's remoteness, not quality, that's the cause. Most visitors (like us) enter Yosemite through one of the three western gates, and far more people spend their time cavorting in Yosemite Valley than make the winding drive up to...More

I never realized how massive Yosemite was until visiting. Tuolumne Meadows is on the eastern side of the park and quite far from Yosemite Valley. The scenery is very different but just as enjoyable. A great place to relax with a picnic.

As we know moorlands from Switzerland, it was not that special to us, but still a very picturesque landscape. Really enjoyed the views out of the car while cruising the Tioga Road heading to Mono Lake.

I don't remember it being all that winding, but remember, you will on the Tioga Pass Road. That goes into the mountains. The speed limit is quite slow, so that might help a bit. As for the cabins, I cannot help you on... More

Tuolumne Meadows is covered in snow in April. No wildflowers. The Tuolumne Meadows Visitor Center will probably open in July this year. Figuring out what to do in a destination can be discussed on the travel forum for... More
