Timeless Tuolumne
Aug 2021
We hiked through the Meadows to the Post Office to pick up our re-supply on our hike of the John Muir Trail. A nice flat stroll on well maintained paths before we crossed 120 and began to climb up to Cathedral Pass. Simply a beautiful area.

Folks, Another Redeeming Feature of this stop is the Crossover of the Pacific Crest Trail! For casual visitors this is an accessible hike to say you been on this 2,653 mile gem. Even though 70 miles of the PCT are within Yosemite, few day trippers and East Coasters have the ability to hike it. Here is your chance!! Stop the car and hike a small section up to Soda Springs or beyond. Its flat, scenic and alpine quality are magical. BONUS TIP: The PCT and the famous John Muir Trail overlap right here in the Meadow! 2 famous trails for price of one.

Beautiful Area Along an Awesome Drive
Jul 2020
Along Highway 120 / Tioga Pass Road, you will drive through Tuolumne Meadows. This location is one of the reasons you should take your time along Highway 120 / Tioga Pass Road.

There are so many things to see here. Don't go around racing from point to point. Stop and spend the time to actually see the park. While this may not be a "destination" location, it's a series of points and stops along 120 that make this drive so incredible.

Make sure to get photos and remember that services are limited. Gas up your car before leaving and bring snacks and drinks.

River and Meadow
Sep 2020
We tried coming here to avoid the smoke from the Creek Fire, but unfortunately it found us here anyway. We tried making the best of it, and the kids enjoyed getting to skip stones and play in the river just off the road. There are lots of hiking trails and opportunities to see wildlife in this area, and with the high elevation off of Tioga Rd, it's generally cooler in the area as well.

Basically just a nice walk, no reason to make this a destination
Jul 2020
It's a bit of flatness in the vertical beauty that is Yosemite. Other than providing nice perspective from which to see the peaks, there isn't too much to say about this meadow. Do walk it and enjoy its beauty, if only as a chance to walk on a bit of flatness in the park outside the valley floor.

may stop by if you have time
Jun 2019
It's located on the Tioga road, you may see some snowy mountains there, you may want to stop by and take a look there if you are allowed to do so. For us, we just took some pictures from the car when we drove thru' the Tioga road.

Beautiful Scenery
Sep 2019
Felt like we were on a movie site selected for beautiful vistas.

We just missed a storm that was forcing Tioga Pass to be closed. So glad we got here in time.
The trails and domes were great to hike on. This was a fantastic complement to the views in Yosemite Valley. I couldn't stop taking pictures.

This is a great stop, spend lots of time walking around and enjoy the gift of nature.

A beautiful blend of meadows, forest and rock, this area is worth an extended visit along Toga Pass Road.
