We did this in Mid Nov. Thankfully our visit coincided with a weak of warm weather and perfect sunshine, so the Pass was open. We started off in Yosemite and drove all the way to other end (Mono Lake) and back again immediately. Took us 2.5 hrs on the way to get to to other side...and that's by hurrying up... More

We were driving over the mountains in late October, when it started to rain and high in the mountain it turned into snow. The drive was very interesting. We have never been in so high altitude before. The nature was very nice. We met ranger cars and cars with snow plows and later on got to know that we were... More

The pass was open so I took the drive for the 1st time and glad I did. You drive to about 9,700 ft and the views are spectacular. Many pullouts, you also see the backside of Half Dome at one point. I started my journey from Lee Vining, it took about 1.5 hours and ended up close to Yosemite National... More

If you are not going in the summer the road may be closed. Call 209 372 0200 for information on Tioga Pass. We went in late October. The first day we tried to do the drive the road was closed because of snow. The 2nd day it didn't open until noon because they were clearing rocks off the road. The... More

The drive through tioga pass was one of the best that I've done in my life. The road was well maintained and the scenery was drop dead gorgeous. Make sure to check the road status before making the drive as it usually closes in winter. Make sure to keep to the limit as there are always rangers patrolling the roads.

This drive was great. Be sure to check the weather and road status especially close to winter. I'd love to drive this in early spring. Even if you aren't coming to the Valley from the east or leaving the Valley and heading east, you should take this drive. It's fabulous.

Driving over Tioga Pass gives you a little of everything. Forrest, mountain, valleys and over to flat land... This road will close in winter, or with snowfall. Very nice drive if you're heading east, or coming from east....

There is such changes in the landscape it is breathtaking. This is an amazing drive in the fall. In one area at a lake there was snow on one side and still had paddle boards on it as it was such a nice day. Overall my favorite drive at Yosemite visit by far.
