Fantastic place to visit - 2nd time here for me! Lots of great hiking trails and all in good condition for all abilities. Rangers always helpful and lots going on.

Very busy but the scenery was spectacular - unfortunately there is a lot of road maintenance work being undertaken so a lot of stop start driving. Need to make an early start to get ahead of the crowds.

Traveled to Yosemite national park in late September. Camped outside Yosemite Valley. Even this late in the season, it's hard to get campsite reservations in Yosemite Valley. I stayed in Toulumne meadows. It was cold at night. Some nights his 32F. So bring your warm...More

Granite is all that exists in the valley and grey is all you see, from light to dark due to spalling of the rock creating a new face, to dark on faces that were never glaciated. Every change in direction of the roads or trails...More

This is an absolutely beautiful park.Stunning views around every corner.. please arrive early to avoid congestion..traffic will be a problem if you attempt to enter later in the morning..

The ever changing landscapes and colors are spectacular. Make your way down to Yosemite village for the early evening and mingle with the crowds. Don't miss the sunset.

We drove to South entrance and stayed at Tenaya Lodge which is about 3.5 hours from San Fran. You can try and see if there are any openings at park hotel but unlikely unless booked 6-12 months ahead. Got up and on the road... More

driving from New Hampshire, coming from the East, you should monitor the snowfall in Mono Lake area. Mammoth Mountain is open year round. but if you fly into LA or surrounding area approaching from West, forget it. biggest... More
