It has what you need
Oct 2021
Most stores in the Village are open. Museum closed, Visitor Center closed but they did have staff outside to answer questions and give advice and maps. The Village Store is pretty well stocked with items. We didn't have any way to cook but they did have prepared sandwiches and salads - which we took advantage of for hiking. Parking only for the store is right outside, and just a short walk away is parking for the Visitor Center with very clean flush bathrooms.

Signs - agree with other TA posts - need better directions. Once we did the 'circle' once we figured out where we were going.

Not what I Expected
Aug 2021
We exited Happy Isles through hordes of tourists knowing the shuttle was down due to Covid. We booted from the exit of the JMT into Yosemite Village. Pretty much a disorganized mess, no restaurants open, visitor center and theatre closed. Covid has ruined things here. We did find a grocery store that was open and was able to charge my phone while waiting for the YART bus. I would love to return here when things get back to normal. The backdrop is stunning.

Appalling NP village
Aug 2021 • Family
Signage, roads, road work, parking problems all over this village. What an absolute nightmare, blocked roads, no entry signs, red cones everywhere. This village is appalling and the worst I have seen though visiting over 35 National Parks. And to top it off the visitor centre was closed 🤦🏼‍♂️. Yosemite management, word of advice, get a grip!!

Lots offered but better signage would be helpful!

Here you will find new/clean bathrooms right in the main parking lot then it’s a 5 minute walk to the village. Signage very poor, not very obvious how to get there. You’ll see cars parked closer but this is short term parking for the store. There are several options for food, our favorite was the pizza bar in Curry Village a little further east down the road. We also did a free bike rental via Yosemite Bike share (get app). Regular bike rentals are $30/person for 4 hrs. Good swimming areas available throughout the valley also.

Blizzard in Yosemitie

Yosemite Village Store visit in a peak winter wonderland. It was absolutely magical to visit the village after the snowfall. The view was a picture postcard. The snow was deep and chains on the wheels were compulsory. There was easy parking as the traffic was stopped due to the snowfall and we were locked into the valley.

This is where everyone ends up

If you drive into Yosemite, this is the focus of activity in the valley. It is a resupply point for hikers and climbers, there is food and shelter available here

Crowded
Oct 2019
We were here in October but it was still extremely crowded. Parking was a nightmare. The prices in the Village Store are inflated but there was no where else to get food.

Nice area to visit, look around and make purchases

Yosemite Village was great. We enjoyed getting to see it, grab a bite to eat for lunch, do some people watching and soak up fresh air. Really nice.

Crowded
Sep 2019
I can not even imagine if I had been here at peak season, it was way too crowded even in late September. I wish they placed limits on the number of people allowed in the valley in a day, it's so busy it loses it peacefulness.
