The Detwiler fire (2017) has reached 75,000 acres on this trip. It has affected the views at Yosemite. Without the smoke rolling in you have 360 degree views - unfortunately we missed out due to the fire, but we enjoyed the hike regardless.

Start early! We started on the trail around 9:00am and by the time we were done, the parking lot was full and people were parking along the road. My wife and I (ages 50) and kids (ages 10, 13, and 17) had no trouble with...More

We did this hike upon entering the park from the south entrance. We arrived at the trailhead around 3:30PM on Thursday June 29 - we were able to park about 200' east of the trailhead on the side of the road. Trail was not secluded,...More

This was an easy hike about short distance and not much elevation. The views were awesome. You get a 360 degree view of the park where you will see half do e and El Capitan. This is a must to do to see all that...More

See my review of Glacier Point...not even close Sentinel Dome has 360 degree views and small crowds...once you have to hike you loose the maddening crows of Glacier Point with much better views

We were super disappointed that we were not successful in getting lottery passes to ascend Half Dome. So we settled for this very easy hike. Not exactly Half Dome, but it was easily accessible with beautiful views. And, an added bonus, in June, there was...More

If you want a great view of Yosemite at sunset, take this hike. It is an easy path to walk with the hardest part walking up the scenic dome. It is high up but feels safe. One of the best views for limited effort in...More

When exploring the park you get to see the impressive peaks. This one is a little far off from the roads but is very impressive. Like a huge rock.

You could do PART of it, but honestly, there are really steep drop offs that are deadly. The final ascent could be done, but you kept your hands on your child at all times. I guess if you were careful, it could be done... More

Hi I assume that you want to end at the Sentinel Dome parking lot / shuttle stop. It's about 1.5 miles from Glacier Point up to the top of Sentinel Dome. Then the loop down the dome, around, and then west to Taft Point is... More
