We heard tubing was a must so decided to try it. It was pretty cold and we floated slowly down the river. It was relaxing and nice to chat to friends along the ride. Since the closing of bars along the river, there were only a handful left, which made the empty spaces a little eerie. Kayakers also love to... More

We set off around 9am and there were very people in the water, so we had the river completely to ourselves for the majority of the 3-3 and a half hours it look to float down the river! We were not interested in going to the bars or drinking, but we loved the views and swimming and floating along the... More

I'm sure you'll have read the reviews before. Put simply this is a good opportunity to chill, drink alcohol, socialise and see the spectacular mountains around Vang Vieng, all while floating in a tube down the river and visiting bars. A good fun way to spend a day!

quite relaxing and way too much fun. two bars along the way one for after 200 meters or so and another after 700 meters or so (at the end) contrary to what was reported I think this is quiet safe - they provide life jacket on request and someone is always overseeing 'tubers' at the bar one should indulge in... We spent Christmas here. It was so good such a laugh. There was only 2 bars open but it didn't matter, lots of fellow travellers to meet and you cannot miss this.

We had a blast! Ended up staying at the bars too long in the evening but it was ok because you can tuk tuk home from them and not have to tube in the dark and cold. Round our second bar they tell you there are no more bars and to stay- it's a lie! Keep going. Take a roadie,... More

A group of us did this during the dry season in January. It was SLOW. Took two hours from the start to downtown Vang Vien. Had to paddle to get through the slowest spots. The low, slow water levels led to bumping on rocks in the shallows. And there were unpredictable, deeper, faster sections that slammed us into the side... More

You have to stop by the bars otherwise you have less fun. Sometime the water is really low and you can't float anymore but in rain season it's better. We met nice people and had a great day! The whole day in the sun and relax in the water was amazing

It is really nice. Some times it is to much last, but it is OK. You can stop in two bar on the river and drink beers. The beer is expensive, but you can bring your. We recommend it, because the price is really different, almost twice.

I started tubing around noon and it took about 3 to 3 1/2 hours to make it down the river since the water is so low. I brought a book and enjoyed just floating down the river with a beer and a book. It was a good way to stay cool in the afternoon, but by the time I got... More
