Went to Palo, Leyte just to see this but it disappoints me. The place was not well maintained. Murky water, the lawn was not maintained, Mac Arthur and the other statues should be repainted.

A park by the red beach where General McArthur landed to help liberate Philippines from the Japanese.
The park has a few memorials about but the main one is the one with General McArthur walking through the water with his men.
Plenty of grassy areas...More
I was a bit shocked to finally see this area live. It really did look big in pictures but the real ones are medium sized and were placed in the middle of the park.

Difficult one to rate. It is one of the must see places for it historical significance and costs nothing. But once you had taken your photos and perhaps had a picnic in the park there isn't much else to do. There are much nicer beaches...More
