This is a place with many faces. There is ancient pagan temple, caves, cave church, a sequoia tree planted from the last Bulgarian tsar in 1937, a horseman engraved in the rocks from 1200 years ago and a solid castle in the sky. For me...More

It's a unique place, full of energy and peace at the same time. It's one of its kind because a rock relief like this can be seen only in one other place on Earthq somewhere in the Middle East, and nowhere else in Europe but...More

The Madara Rider is most likely from the time of Bulgarian Khan Tervel, so it's very old - carved around the years 701 - 718. In the area, you will also see an ancient Roman fortress and Thracian findings. In the museum, you will find...More

One of the prominent Bulgarian culture landmarks. It's horse rider engraved in the rocks. It's really old and interesting. Buy some souvenirs when you are there.

It's interesting, but we didn't have a guide and so we didn't get all the information about it. The site doesn't offer much insight about this mysterious carving in the mountain.
