Cheap ferry, but a lot of drawbacks!

Loved my stay all but the insect bites ... I love my stay at the El Conquistador it was a beautiful vacation we had lots of fun taking the ferry to and from the island I would surely recommend this hotel it had lots of things to do from the horseback riding to kayaking and taking tours we enjoyed our... We took the ferry to Culebra Island. Culebra was recommended to us as having the best beaches and being a little more laid back than Vieques, so that's what we chose. Cheap trip, but there are a lot of drawbacks. We went in November which is off season. I was told that in season, the line starts as early as... More

Before hand we booked a tour taxi guy and they txt us through the company our tour guide... More

The ferry has gotten a poor reputation it seems, but everything worked out just fine. Yes, it was good to arrive early, and you have to wait. Just like anything else. The facilities are not as modern as one might see in the mainland US, but they worked just fine. The interior was set a little cool, but that also... More

After reading reviews about the ferry I was even not sure if we should try to get in. But travelling on Monday and off-season (October 31st) we've decided to give it a try. We have arrived at 8am for 9am ferry and there was no line, none at all!!! Only 1/3 of the seats were occupied. So, my advise, travel... More

Yes its a chaotic mess. You leave San juan at 3 am. You wait in line for hours. You get 2 people away in line from the ticket window and they call out that the ticket sales are closed for Culebra until the 3PM ferry. You cry a little bit. Consider taking a 100 pp plane ride. Cry some more... More

It was a very enjoyable ride. Very nice people navigating. Very friendly passengers. I would use this mode of transportation again.

You have to arrive 1 hour in advance, they put you in a some kind of line ( some kind as it doesn exist ) and be carefull and take a coat for the ferry as it is really cold inside and may be you ll be web from the beach .

The fare is cheap, accommodation acceptable and trip is OK. We travelled in low season so had no issues with finding space. I was really flabergasted by the fact that there are two distinct boarding lines: one for locals who are boarded first and one for the "others", i guess the ones that do not look like locals, as they... The last couple of times we tried to take the ferry from Fajardo to Culebra was a waste of time. We had to be there at the crack of dawn and there was a long line already, There was only one line that does not move forward because local people from Culebra or Vieques have priority so they don't have...
