Went to this joint to try out the Salmon Sashimi. You can purchase the 100g, 200g, 400g pre-cut at roughly $60/kg, or you can purchase 1kg sashimi fillet un-cut for $43/kg. We chose the 1kg sashimi fillet because we got a campervan with a kitchen...More

Stopped by and tried their salmon in curry with rice. Salmon is good, however, the curry doesn't have much taste and looks like putting a little bit of coconut milk with thickening stuff. Quite disappointed. The salmon farm that open to the public is quite...More

Stopped here on our way to Lake Tekapo and it was a trip highlight! The chowder and smoked salmon board were delicious but the Salmon Sashimi was the best. With an endless supply of wasabi and soy sauce, its the perfect lunch stop. After, we...More

Lovely fresh salmon. There is a salmon farm behind which you can have a look. One suggestion: provide soy sauce and wasabi like how mt cook alpine salmon is doing! We compared their salmon with the one at mt cook alpine salmon (as pictured) and...More

Reasonable price for fresh salmon sashimi (relative to salmon sashimi weve tried in restaurants elsewhere). And fish feeding was fun too! Great stop for lunch on the way to Mt Cook!

We stopped here for lunch expecting the salmon to be fresh and delicious. The salmon sashimi and salmon platter we ordered at the restaurant were fresh and fine. Salmon curry was average and there were only a small piece or two of salmon in the...More

Hi Penrapee, I’m really sorry to hear that your fillet wasn’t as you expected We pride ourselves in having fresh fish, because it only need to travel less than 100m from farm to processing to shop! And mushy certainly doesn’t sound normal. Our salmon chowder...More

Fresh salmon was very tasty despite being very fatty. We ordered a salmon chowder and a hot smoked salmon salad. The salad was good (well, it is hard to ruin some fresh veggies and the hot smoked salmon was delicious), however the salmon chowder was...More

Hi LR, Sorry you didn’t like the chowder - be assured it’s all made on site with a dozen or so ingredients - and no canned soup base! It’s actually one of our most popular cafe items. But if you a got a favourite chowder...More

The best salmon I have tasted in New Zealand. Very delicate and fresh, best eaten raw and at their site next to lake pukaki. You can feed the salmon at the twined site, and lake tekapo is also stunning.

Made a change from other cafes. Fun to feed the fish, and the location with the views is stunning. We had the dry smoked salmon sushi and it was stunning. Not like the rubbish supermarket sushi. Worth a stop off.
