Did some awesome dives at mnemba atoll with experienced and knowledge Abdul who's a dive instructor. Locally owned and operated. Good equipment, great dives tailored to my interests. Abdul was safe and knowledgeable and I learned lots from him. Free hotel pick up/transfer within matemwe and looking forward to new website that will launch soon. Great local operation!

During our stay in Matemwe we looked for a diving center and finally chose the only one belonging to a local owner, which was cheaper than One Ocean, the bigger diving center beside (after negotiation 130 dollars for two dives plus snorkeling for my wife vs 170 dollars). The equipment was satisfactory and the instructor, Emmanuel Odira, kind and professional.... More

We ended up diving with these guys after speaking with a “beach boy” (1st mistake). We chose to dive with them instead of the local and respectable dive center because it was way cheaper (2nd mistake). To make it simple: we were supposed to do two dives near Mnemba, but after going on the boat and looking at the equipment... More

I will start off by saying that I didn't plant this trip. Had I planned it, we would have never used Scuba Libre as they wouldn't have been able to honestly answer my usual questions when I take a snorkeling trip: Do the guides speak English? What safety measures are implemented in case of unforeseen circumstances or bad weather? Dangerous... More

Organised by one of the receptionists at our hotel (not the one the hotel usually uses but a friend of a friend). When we first arrived at a run down dive shop we were a little apprehensive. A lot of the gear is pretty old and the wetsuits were a bit thin and worn in places so we got cold... More

Today is my last day in Zanzibar and I think it's important to write a few words about Scubalibre as soon as possible so I can maybe help out some fellow travellers. My bad experience with the centre could be divided in 3 ways: 1. Diving material and boat: the material given by the centre is really old and is... More

We checked out different diving centres in Matemwe and decided to go with Scuba Libre because of the enthousiasm of the staff and the good prices. I did two dives and a snorkelling trip and my boyfriend did his advanced course. The equipment was fine and looked in good condition. Unfortunately, the meter that tells you how much oxygen you... We spend one day at mnemba for 2 dives and one discovery dive. We had one divemaster for 3 people. The staff is very friendly. There was a lot of fishes and corals and one turtle. The visibility wasn t very good and the divemaster was a bit too fast. So it was difficult to follow him. They were not... More
