For people who look for a secluded beach with nothing on it, this one is perfect. The problem is that the locals always come to disturb the peace and quiet and try to sell stuff to you. Also, there are not much restaurants to eat, there was a hotel restaurant that was bad in every term. The beach itself is... More

"NEW Teddy's Place" should better change its name to "Pardies"! It's an amazing place for backpackers. I spend 10 days there just relaxing at the beach, at the bar or in the hammock. Rooms and restrooms are clean, staff is very friendly and in case of any problem from outside (inside teddys are no problems) the hostel manager will help... More

Every 6 hours, it changes completely, with a huge tide that reveals more than a 100m seaward of beach when low and possibility to walk to the reef. Can only swim at high tide when most of the beach is submerged completely. Amazing yellow-greenish to pale blue color that also changes with the tide. Walking along the beach was problematic... This beach on the eastern coast stretches for miles, from Bwejuu village all the way south to Jambiani. It's far more less crowded than the Nungwi on the north shore. The ocean like anywhere on Zanzibar is warm and turquoise, but with big differences in low and high tide. Print the tide schedule online so you can plan your time,... More

Beautiful beach. Clean. Friendly not pushy Masai try to sell you their trinkets but not aggressive. Warm balmy calm sea. When tide is low water is far out for a few hours. Interesting to walk and watch native women collecting strange kind of seafood from corals. Lots of places for kitesurfing but didn't bother us from swimming. Nice eateries along... More
