On the first day we came to this place we did a small tour through the garden and bought some great quality spices. The second time we came for the cooking class - it was SO MUCH FUN. High recommendations on this class. My suggestion for the Spice Garden would be to introduce an "advanced class" so people who have... More

This is a well planned spice garden with very healthy plants which have been maintained by generations . The spices which we bought here are very good

The cooking class is excellent! Really fun and very informative. The spice gardens are also lovely and very interesting. The whole thing is run by a small family and has a lovely vibe to it. Would highly recommend!

Having read about the cooking course we were excited to book on and get involved. The host was excellent and made everyone feel at ease, and clearly knew what he was talking about. We made 5 delicious curries - the garlic curry was especially good - but don't eat too much of it as you can easily ingest 40 cloves... More

The tour of the garden is nice and the owner offers cooking classes and spices at a reasonable price. Unfortunately he was booked up when we wanted to do the class, but we bought over 1kg of different spices for under 10$ usd. I would definitely recommend if you are in Ella and into gardens and fresh spices.

A short tour of the garden costs only 100Rs/person and the spices available at the end are reasonably priced. They also smell delicious! We didn't do the cooking class so it can be a short visit, definitely worth adding to your trip.

Unfortunately we didn't have time for a cooking class! The owner showed us his lovely garden and explained to us how the spices grow. He had several pictures to show us how the spices are manufactured. He even knew the names of the spices in German, which was very helpful! After a short walk through the garden you can buy... More

Had a wonderful evening learning how to cook some Sri Lankan dishes (all veggie) before feasting on what we'd made. Great way to spend an evening in this sleepy town.

Learnt about this through trip advisor. We went and had a quick look around the spice garden first which was well maintained and interesting to see all the spices. Chandika was very welcoming and spoke perfect English and we had some good laughs too. We were given an introduction to the spices before moving to the kitchen. Maximum amount of... More

The garden is small but the tour is very educational. The owner Ranatunga was very passionate. You can also buy spices from his garden which smell amazing!
