Visited in April before the season had started so the remains of the palace were very quiet and peaceful. We walked from Malia along the main road it was a pleasant walk but the temperature was cooler than in peak season. There was a small charge for entry and we spent an hour walking round. Information was sparse and there... More

We found Malia Palace by walking along the coastline from Sissi to Malia, and were very pleased to come across it. Set slightly inland by the main road, it's easy to access on foot or by car. The grounds of the palace are quite large, with most of the foundations intact, many of which you can walk around. There are... More

If you like your history grab a camera and take your time walking around these ruins. One if two ancient Minoan temples on Crete.. This one has not even significantly altered or restored but it's impressive and captivating nonetheless. Malia nearby has some really fabulous beaches to relax at afterwards.. And some cracking little tavernas! Greek salad! 😁

The place is interesting if you like old things. Just it's not a good place to go when it's too hot.

Beware if visiting this place it shuts at 3pm!!! The only sign of this is provided by the owner of Eva's Restaurant a mile and a half away. When we arrived at 2:50pm the staff were already sitting down to lunch and jeered at us for being late. Well if Greece is serious about sorting out its economy it can... More

Do not miss Knossos Palace ,Malia Palace if you like History! Crete is a beautiful island with many different landscapes. We was very surprised by the temperatures at that time of year. (28.5 ). Sunny most days.

As others have said this is an extensive pile of rocks, which could, if the purpose plan and layout were put into context an explained, possibly have been very interesting. As it was, there was no guidebook (the shop was shut and empty- we visited at the start of November), and the few sign simply said things like 'altar' or... More

I prefer this Palace , it's more quite and authentic in Malia, this palace was constructed at the same time as Knossos and Phaestos; There is a nice round plate in stone with a diametre of 1,20 m ; It was perhaps a stone for religious celebrations; Not faraway from the central palace was the chrysolakkos what means a gold...
