Sad how a lovely site has been so degraded through incompetence

I think it is telling that most other reviews are from over a year ago ... We've been coming to this beautiful little lake for the better part of 20 years. There used to be a series of kiosks where you could eat, and people would rent you boats and deck chairs. It was very well organised, and the people who worked there kept it clean and tidy. Being spacious, you never felt crowded. It also kept a substantial number of local people employed. Last year we went there and found everything removed. There was filth everywhere, and a state of complete abandon. We'd been told the park had intervened to "clean things". Hoping to see things improved this year, we just went and again found the same state of neglect and filth. What a shame ...

Very nice lake to spend a day outside of Rome but was very disappointed due to additionAl fees for incomplete service

This lake is like a paradise, no words to describe it. I have visited this place few times in my past and this year i wanted to show it to my friends visiting me in rome but there was a thing i did not like this time. The comune of anguillara imposed this new fee of 5 eur to parc your car 2,5 km down from the lake and then they charge you additional 2 eur per person to drive you to the lake. But this is not all, they actually do not drive you down to the lake, they leave you 800 meters away from the lake on a dusty road on which walking is not a pleasant experience because you inhale so much dust from cars passing(those cars have some special permit i guess to go down) i hope they change this weird rule quite soon bcos the lake is so beautiful and some good food can be found down there as well.

Surely the same lake as in Bracciano, a must to visit, to take a sunbath for a relaxing day,
you can hire sun beds or you bring only your suimsuit and your bath towel.
Wy not go for a picnic ?

Picturesque lake
Jul 2015
This particular lake satisfies the needs of most travelers, from the thrill seeker to the traveler who would just like to relax under a shady umbrella in the green grass. Kayaks, canoes, pedalos, and umbrellas are available for rent and there is a concession stand on the premises. As far as parking goes, there is a shuttle service for 4-8 euros that takes you from the parking lot to the lake on demand! (just call them and tell them to come pick you up)

Close to Rome is this jewel of a lake. Green water and beautiful nature. I spent my day at Naiticlub and went sailing , swimming and walking. It is very comfortable as you can hire an umbrella and chairs, and there are plenty of great places to eat amazing food at. I have recommended Nauticlub Lake Martignano to many of my friends in Rome and they all love it . A great place to go with kids or friends or alone as the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Lake in what was once a volcanic cone. No road traffic. Beautiful location. Good for swimming. Lots of tall trees giving shade in hot weather. Several simple bar/restaurants.

Not a typical beach with hundreds of parasols
Sep 2012 • Friends
First, the cons: Getting down to the lake requires a shuttle bus to a drop off point (3km) followed by a hike down a dirt road (about 600 meters). This implies that at the end of the day, you will be hiking up the hill and then waiting for a shuttle to take you back to the parking (there is assistance for the disabled). If you're not patient, then this is not a beach for you. If you need to be in constant mobile communication, this may not be the place for you as one member of our party had poor reception during our visit.

Great, since you're not afraid of a short hike, you're rewarded with a wonderful fresh-water lake, very close to Rome, with clean water, nice sand/grass, peddle-boats, and some on-site services such as lawn-chairs, parasols, and bar food. There were also horses which we did not investigate.

There is a complete absence of motorized vehicles as this is a nature reserve.

This is not an amusement-park beach. This is a great place to bring a book, bring the kids, pack a lunch, and spend the day not doing anything but splashing, tanning, snoozing, paddling, and generally getting away from the hustle and bustle of life in Rome.

Green and peaceful little lake
Jul 2012 • Family
Lago di Martignano is tucked away over a hillside next to Lake Bracciano - much smaller and quieter. Take the road from the centre of Anguillara towards the station and take a left beside a little chapel just past the turning for Trevignano. Just after narrow bridge take a right to big car park in a field. 5 euro for the day plus 2 euro per person for the 'navetta' (little bus) to the lake. It drops you at the top of a dusty hill. Follow the path down (closed shoes a good idea - high heels not) and you'll soon see why you bothered coming. The navetta is new this year and much complained about by the locals but it means the lake is quieter once you get there. You can swim, canoe, sail (if the wind gets up in the afternoon) or take a pedalo. Lie in the shade of a tree or take sunbeds and an 'ombrellone'. Enzo dai Salici has friendly staff who speak good English. Good bar with sandwiches and hot food. And lots of room for picnics and children. About an hour by car from central Rome. Great place to escape the heat and the crowds.
